Did you know that bamboo is one of the worlds most sustainable and versatile building materials with the tensile strength equivalent to steel? When bamboo is grown well, harvested properly, maintained effectively, and used mindfully in design, a bamboo structure will last a lifetime.
We invite you to apply for a place to come with us to Bali in April 2024 to explore the process of sustainable bamboo building with the team of designers, architects, and engineers from IBUKU. Together we will take a bamboo journey course and have hands-on workshops with design and model making. We will take a tour through a bamboo housing community and see firsthand these incredible and inspiring structures that form houses.
We will visit a bamboo factory, workshop, and design space to see traditional Balinese craftsmen working closely with the team of IBUKU designers and builders to develop a balance of ancient and new ideas. We will see how this wild grass called bamboo is processed to prepare and strengthen it into construction materials.
While we are in Bali, we will also indulge our minds and senses with some amazing food, relaxing massages, and the exploration of furniture and crafts.
This is an experience that will truly AWAKEN YOUR MIND and send you back to your workspace refreshed.
